It has been almost a decade since Shuttle Time was introduced to Vietnam.
Over the years, the programme has spread out all over the country and plays an important role in the development of badminton at the grassroots level. An example of its popularity was a three-day Shuttle Time Teachers Course in Ninh Binh City, which attracted 82 participants, besides nearly a hundred elementary school students. The course aimed to deepen knowledge among teachers and coaches and help them plan and deliver safe, fun and inclusive badminton sessions for children.
Held from 21 to 23 December 2022, the theory portion of the course was conducted in a conference room of Ninh Binh Cultural Center, while the practical modules were conducted in the sports hall. Group discussions and PowerPoint presentations were also used to make the session more engaging.
The course was attended by 82 participants (63 male and 19 female) from 10 schools in Ninh Binh City. Most of the participants were PE teachers and coaches with basic knowledge of teaching badminton.
The success of the programme was thanks to the coordination between Vietnam Badminton Federation and Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports, which enabled the use of the conference room and sports hall.
